Lack of people / active members

OK everyone
Since I have been here you all been really helpful
HOWEVER
I really want an active guild it gets really old being the only person on  85% or more of the time you are playing also when peopleare on it always the same 3/4 people..
I have been trying like hell to recruit and I have gotten people on and  here but they all say the same thign when they leave... No one ever on  or ever really talking / doing anything..
I mean I see cerebral all the time and kyle  othe rthen those  2 its hit and miss  with who is on  if anyone ..
I am trying to increase people in guild but  to be honest it not all that easy and I reall ydont see alot of other people getting people invited..
You can recruit person says yea i am plannin g on staying and leaves an hour later.. YOU CANT CONTROL OTHERS
you just need to get what you can and hope they stay..
I ma going to try to stick aroudn however if there is not alot more activity soon I might hvae to go as well.. I mean I am used to everquest where  if you have  50 people  inn guild you see  35-40 of them on a daily basis not having 36 in guild and     25% not logged onin over a week hell  most in over 2-3weeks
I play alot yes but  it gets frustratign being the only person on  when u have questions or need a hand  or just feel like bs ing..
So people need to work on getting more active people guilded otherwise  I see alot of people possibly leaving or guild just staying as it is and nto growing  much..
Just my 2cents on things...

and i will recruit spend the 100g to invite and hope people stay .. can't help it if they realize guild is slow and not very active and decide to leave they paid for their game u cna't force them to stay ..but if you dont try to get them in yu wont get anyone in ...

hmmm...pretty intense stuff. yes, i've been saying for about a million weeks that we need to recruit more, but I disagree with you on several points.

1. Our guild was only founded about a month a a half ago and to have 35 members is no small feat. It's hard to recruit these days when most everyone has a guild or wants a guild that is already large and established.

2. Every time I'm on people are talking and if they aren't talking in the guild then people are talking in the alliance. I have someone to talk to 95% of the times that I am on.

3. I recruit quite a lot. I get a new member about every other day.

It'd be a bummer to lose you but to make progress we have to work for it. Cain, you, death...you aren't being patient enough by my estimation. It takes time to have a strong guild. We're trying to get there just like you want to be, it just takes some time :)

I also have a different play time scheduel than most of you
I usually play all night EST till 7-8 am and get back on again in afternoon or evening 5pm or later and play again
example.... There was exactly one person on in guild for 4 hrs when i played the other day ..
in alliance chat no one answered or said anythgin for a good 4 hrs as well
so it gets annoying being only one on / around during the play times

yes you do recruit and get people .. the point i wanted to make is you posted about getting peple who will stay .. I incvite peopel cant make them stay these are reasons i have been told they leave.. I am not going to stop trying get people in guild or stop inviting them when i can
however your post on guild motto sayign people whoi stay annoyed me b/c no matter what they say if they going to leave they leave they can say ya i stick aroudn and leave 2 minutes after getting invite
Nothgin i cna do about that or anyone else can..
so you makign that post kinda was aggravating b/c it really shouldnt have been made b/c that sbeyond our control we can only hope those who get invited stay ..
I have worked hard trying get people into guild am always tryign .. keeping them is the issue .. hell you have 35+ in guild but
9/10 not played in over a week
6/7 in over 2 45 over 3
so mainly u have about 18 or so who play at least every 3 days..
thats the issue
I am around and trygin get guild going but I mean like you said people want ACTIVE guilds
I mean we not exactly the most active except a handful of people we need active players and alot more of them ..

Wow, Drogan. Your words sting like Super Bowl XL Replays on NFL network. I see what you were talking about, but i think Kyle's right about just hoping people will stay. Next time your in a big city, look around at the number of people who are already in a guild. Then consider those who aren't. There ought to be 15 out of 150 poeple who are recruitable. Then consider how many of those will stay. Makes 35 members in 6 weeks seem pretty impressive now doesn't it.

Don't get me wrong i hear what your saying about people leaving. I used to be one of, if not the most active officer online, exept kylkins, and he's the LEADER!!!
Or, at least, thats what it seemed like, no offense everyone.
now my computer is broken and im stuck posting comments on a forum from a PS3! It was very frustrating to see people leaving, especially Mystik Ancient, he acually asked to come back!

The point is, is if this guild is an infant, we need to learn to walk before we sprint a 100 meter dash. Commitment and Consistansy, and apparently in your case coffee, will be our training wheels. We'll get there, just not yet.

Drogan,

The reason nobody is on when you are on is you are on in the late late night and early morning when most of the people are sleeping or in school. I gave you your officer promotion so that you could recruit people that play at the same times as you do. I think if you just put in some time recruiting during that time that nobody is on you could find some people to play with you that are always on in those times and also would contribute to the guild. Whadya think?

I'm on quite often...

Iunno, when Im on there is usual chatter in the guild chat. It can seomtimes be dead but sometime YOU have to be the one to start a conversation. Ive said this before, every time I get on, I immediatly say "Hey Guys" to maybe get some people talking. I admit, that alot people who get on never talk, even when others are chatting, but thats just how some people are. Most people that are active and talking are the usuals though...Kykins...The officers...and like 5 or 6 members, but alot of eastablished guilds who have hundreds of people sometimes dont see much talking either. The last guild I was in had around 70-80 people, people who were on wuite a bit, and there were only around 8 or 9 people ever talking.

I do agree with some things that you're saying, but threats about leaving the guild wont help. If a rough patch in a guild is all it takes for you to up and quit, then what are you going to do when we do get big, and have to deal with the troubles of PvP? Thats the thing, people always think that its going to easier, but it really just gets harder. With more people, a guild is harder to manage, PvP issues come up, and it seems like there are never enough officers on for all the people. Trust me, Ive been there.

Im not trying to make you look like a bad guy, but if a relatively small issue like this is bothering you, then how will you react when the big issues start coming up?

confused
